Yes for love triangles!! One of my favorites is Twilight, still to this day! I've recently re-read the book and re-watched all the movies for its 20th anniversary. How time flies!! I'm happy to still see love triangles in books and on TV recently! And of course Conform's!! I still don't know which team I'm on...
Half way through Conform and not quite sure who I’m rooting for yet although I sense it will be for Hal…Collin’s past is hinting to a dark, hidden secret. I always find a love triangle story comforting without being cognizant that it’s because it offers hope and a realization of dreams. Thanks for the fun article and insight!
I love a good love triangle, but as a 90210 lover since 2nd grade, and the summer of deception being my intro to Beverly Hills, I must politely correct a huge typo/mistake - the love triangle with Brenda/Kelly/Dylan. Brenda and Brandon are sibling. I believe you are mixing the later equally mega-love triangle of Kelly/Brandon/Dylan, which of course ended (temporarily) in the infamous “I choose me” moment.
I’ll always be team Brenda/Dylan and Brandon/Kelly, for what it’s worth.
When I was growing up I was all about love triangles in movies like Can’t Buy me Love, Some Kind of Wonderful, or the Ringwald greats of Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles. I don’t know why I like love triangles so much except that the appeal seems to lie in the uncertainty and unpredictability of who the protagonist will ultimately choose. And if they will choose the one I am rooting for. It’s the imagination of having the same predicament of two people vying for my attention. I also think it’s that deep dark secret you have with yourself about those kinds of imaginations or feelings. Ones you only share with your LOCKED journal. At least until someone proves trustworthy. Lol!
Love a good triangle especially when it truly complex like conform grew up with Dylan and Brandon 80% and not sure enjoy both characters feel it team Hal love is truly complicated romance forever
I'm there with you. Hopefully romantic always... the suspense of the unfolding always draws me in. But not all villains are people. Jane Austin's books always pull me in between love and society! Social norms, the 'right choice' vs the heart's choice. Ugh... always love a good love story. Especially while waiting patiently for mine to unfold. Lol.. (In my 50's, post divorce and so much wiser then I was at 18!) ❤️
