My breath prayer recently has been ‘God is in control. I can let go.’ Letting go of expectations, letting go of anxiety about big things I have no control over, and learning the practice of resting in the quiet presence of God.

Yes, this is undoubtedly the key. I’m currently reading. Let God fight your battles and remain peaceful during the storm. This certainly reinforces your point about control.

Claudia, this is really good!!! If you don’t mind, I’d like to use this.

Jenna and Kate, This is so beautiful for this season (any season). Thank you! My Go To: “Be still, and know that I am God.”

“Be still and know that I am God” is also my “go to”….😊

Thank you sharing these words, Kate & Jenna.

I go back to the serenity prayer often this time of year - “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” - serenity, courage & wisdom guiding me towards hope.

I like the quote by Theresa of Lisieux, “we are infinitely loved by infinite love.”

The kind of hope we talk about in our family and faith connections is not a Hope in Outcomes… (I talk about this with the parents I coach too)…because the “one day, we will have it all … and it will be pretty and perfect and tied up in a bow and my kids, my home, my life will be in order because I had Hope ” is sure to end in disappointment (the opposite of hope) because perfect expectations set and met is not reality. Instead Our Hope is in the Flailing… the wiggles and wobbles that wind our path in ways we didn’t expect only to find God there too…. And that’s the most beautiful thing of all.

The running background prayer of my life is “God who was, and is, and is to come”. Sustains me through the joy, grief, pain and love of this life.

This is going to sound silly but, “God doesn’t blink” not ever! Nothing escapes God. I find comfort in that.

I ask God to make me cognizant of His hand in my day, in both the big and little ways He reveals Himself.

Dum spiro spero… is that right? While I breathe I hope. I should probably figure that out for sure before I get the tattoo!

I’m a Latin teacher, and yes, that is correct.

Thank you for sharing Kate’s blessing.💜 It's now the season of Lent, and a phrase/mantra that I speak and share almost daily is: Seek the Joy! Tucked in these few words are many stories of Christ showing up in all things.🙏
